Hal & Berni Hanson Regional Park UpdateLight-level testing is scheduled for the evening hours at the new Hal and Berni Hanson Regional Park athletic fields for two weeks beginning Monday, June 13th, weather permitting. Residents will notice increased activity at the park prior to the testing date. Construction is estimated to be completed in June 2022.

Call for Volunteers - Design Review CommitteeGET INVOLVED! The Design Review Committee is looking for a few volunteers to join the team. The DRC reviews about 80-120 applications every month and it is not a small endeavor. Volunteers with experience in construction, architecture, landscaping, and design are preferred but not required. With the high volume and attention to detail required for reviewing applications, anticipate a commitment level of about 8-12 hours per month. DRC meetings begin at 9AM on the third Wednesday of every month at Sycamore House. If you would like to volunteer or require more information, please reach out to DRC@willowsfordlife.com.

Herbs: Gardening & CookingLAST CHANCE! Sunday, June 26th from 9 AM - 12 PM at the Farm Stand & Sycamore House. Willowsford Kitchen is teaming up with Willowsford Conservancy to bring you an exciting crossover class. Start the day at the Farm Stand with Gabriel Concordia of Willowsford Conservancy who will walk you to the greenhouse to talk about how the Farm is growing herbs and other produce and serve farm-based snacks. After transplanting an herb seedling to take home and harvesting some farm produce, you’ll walk over to Sycamore House and join Chef Emily in making an herb inspired menu. The things you harvested will go directly into the lunch you prepare and enjoy with your group! This event is for ages 5 and up. Cost is $65/per adult (13+); $50 per child (5-12). Enjoy an evening of fun including live music, entertainment, food/drink, and more, ending with a finale of fireworks overlooking Willow Lake. Bring a blanket, lawn chairs, and picnic, if you wish. Fishing ClassTrout Unlimited’s local chapter joins Willowsford Conservancy to teach the fundamentals of fishing and basic fish ecology at Willow Lake. Chef Gabe will also be teaching attendees how to break down fish and basic techniques on how to cook it! Register, here.
