Playground ImprovementsYou may have already heard there are improvements coming to several Willowsford playgrounds. The all-resident Playground Improvement Committee, Board, and Staff worked together to develop the community’s top priorities. Committee members were from all 4 villages and worked tirelessly for over 8 months developing their recommendation which was approved in its entirety during the February 2023 Board Meeting. Equipment has been ordered with an expected late summer/early fall delivery.
Thank you to all the resident committee members: Laura Griffin, Jamie Wohlert, Letitia Yates, Allison Wall, Kelly Breen, Kari Lynn, Voliva, Holly Patterson, Lisa Sinsheimer, Samantha Dixon, and Rebecca Chase. Here's what’s coming:
The Grange Paddock Gate Park: replace under-utilized volleyball court with additional swings for all ages, including a hoopla swing Bear Barn Treehouse: replace swing set and replacement of the treehouse is under review
The Grant Wild Plum Park: replace cube structure with play equipment and swings with a larger footprint Everfield Park: add playground equipment for younger children
The Grove Log Cabin Park: replace existing treehouse structure with additional swing for all ages and a palmetto saucer Pin Oak Park: add swings for all ages, including a hoopla swing
The Greens The Lodge Playground: current equipment is inside the gated pool area; the new equipment will be located outside the pool area adding a year-round accessible playground. Additionally, enhancing the original layout/equipment for a more robust playground being centrally located for The Greens and The Grove specifically, but also for the entire community as most large events are held at The Lodge

Willowsford Security PatrolsYou may have noticed security vehicles patrolling the community. Willowsford HOA contracts with Signal 88 to provide community patrols after hours. These patrols primarily focus on the amenities through Willowsford and the Conservancy. The purpose of these patrols is to help prevent vandalism, illegal activity, and to keep our residents safe. If you are walking in the evening, one of these officers may stop to ask if you need assistance. Signal 88 officers always dress in appropriately labeled attire and drive vehicles clearly marked as Signal 88. If you have any questions about this service, please reach out to HOA@willowsford.com.
While Signal 88 helps to prevent incidents, they are not able to intervene. If you need immediate assistance, please contact 911 or LCPS non-emergency at 703-777-1021.

Mailbox Issue & ResolutionA few streets in The Greens were recently notified by the USPS that their mailboxes did not meet current USPS height requirements. They were required to raise their mailboxes to avoid having their mail service put on hold. Due to our current mailbox standards, this was not going to be a simple, inexpensive task. After discussing the issue with the Board, they agreed to permit a relatively easy solution and to adjust the design standards accordingly to ensure mailboxes would be compliant with USPS standards. If you receive a notice from the USPS regarding the height of your mailbox, please contact HOA@willowsford.com. We want to thank the residents involved for their patience.
