Community Information Meeting Notice: LCPS - Loudoun County Public Schools will hold a community information meeting to review the proposed use of the existing barn located on the Dulles South HS-9, ES-29, and Loudoun County public use site for a public utility service center, without a storage yard, on September 19, 2017, in the John Champe High School cafeteria (41535 Sacred Mountain Street, Aldie, VA 20105) at 6:30 PM. The purpose of the meeting is to share information with the surrounding community on the proposed use. If you are unable to attend this meeting, please do not hesitate to contact our office for further information. In addition, information has been posted on the LCPS website under the Quick Link for Planning/School Attendance Zones, Future School Sites/Facilities, HS-9/ES-29 and County Public Use Site.

Waves Board Elections - The Willowsford Waves are seeking nominations for board positions. If you are interested in running for one of the board positions or would like to submit a nomination, please email Katie Gonzalez, our nomination chair. Nominations need to be submitted no later than October 10th.

We will be holding elections at our membership meeting that will be held in late October. Date and time is TBD.

Community Standards Inspection Reminder – The following sections in The Grant can expect to see Elexandra over the next few months: 2B1, 2B2, 3A and 3B. Click here to determine what section your street is in. Elexandra will be dressed in Willowsford Gear and/or wearing an ID lanyard. You can expect to see her taking pictures and walking along the property.

NEW! Sculpt It by Abrakadoodle - Wednesdays, October 4th through November 8th from 3:45 to 4:45 PM at The Lodge. The Abrakadoodle art experience engages children with art lessons that will inspire your child's imagination. In our Sculpt It class children will learn to create 3D sculptures using a variety of tools and materials which may include modeling compound, wire, wood, aluminum, plastic, string and paper.  Our program is intended to be an art enrichment class where we'll mold, bend, twist, stretch, and balance all while learning about amazing artists and making 3D creations that are dynamic, creative and fun!  All materials are provided. Street Eats at Willowsford (Street Eats at Willowsford is a Developer Marketing-sponsored even) – Saturday, September 16th from 12 to 4 PM at The Boat House. Lunch & Learn – Thursdays, Sept. 21st, 28th and Oct. 5th. From 10:30 AM to 1 PM at The Lodge. In this 3-week technique-driven series you’ll learn the “why” behind what we do in the Kitchen, including knife skills, how to purchase and use kitchen equipment and ingredients, as well as solid culinary techniques. While preparing a delicious lunch, veteran cooks and beginners will learn and practice basic knife skills including how to hone and sharpen a knife, slice and dice an onion, dice a shallot, julienne carrots, chop herbs and debone a whole chicken. The Kitchen will vacuum pack your chicken for you to take home.  Lunch will be served each week along with a glass of wine. *This class is limited to 12 students.

$70/person per class for Week 1 and 2. $90/person for Week 3 (includes a Free-Grange chicken to take home). Series $230/per person (includes a Willowsford apron and a Free-Grange chicken to take home on Week 3).

Jr. Chef Academy: Half Pints - Tuesdays, October 3rd through November 14th (no class 10/31). Community Bonfire & Camp Out Saturday, September 30th. Join the Willowsford Conservancy for our annual community bonfire and camp-over on The Greens meadow at the Grassland Grove Boulevard trailhead. The bonfire, BBQ and potluck begin at 6 PM with live music from 6:30 to 9:30 PM.  Please bring a side dish or dessert to share. We’ll provide hotdogs and sausages, a veggie dish, water and supplies. Anyone camping over will be treated to coffee/hot chocolate in the morning. Tents may be set up starting at 2 p.m. $5/person. Register here!

Rev3 Adventure Enablers: The Trail Mix - Saturday, October 7th from 7 to 11 AM in The Greens. The Trail Mix offers a chance to mix it up on the trails with your choice of a 5K, 10K, or half-marathon. You will experience single track, and double track as you take on these trails in woods and gently rolling open fields. Rev3 Adventure Enablers: Tenderfoot - Sunday, October 8th in The Greens. The race is from 9 AM to 12 PM not including a pre-race brief and post-race food and awards. The Tenderfoot is an event for beginners and families to mountain bike, trek, strategize, navigate, perform challenges, and paddle by following a map with marked checkpoints. Basically, it's an all-terrain scavenger hunt with a handsome reward…great prizes, muddy legs, a sweaty body, and proud smiles like you may not have seen in a while.
