Recycling Schedule Change - Recycling will be collected in The Grove and Greens on Tuesdays beginning October 10th.  For complete schedule  click here.

Construction Notice - LCPS will begin construction of sanitary sewer lines for the new high school in Brambleton, east of Evergreen Mills Road, to the south of Creighton in the next few weeks. The proposed line will run from Evergreen Mills Road to near Founders Drive.

Conservancy & Farm

Recreational Archery Coming to Willowsford - Willowsford Conservancy is excited to offer residents of all ages an outdoor archery range to practice their skills.  Scheduled to open in late spring of 2018 in the southern section of The Greens, the archery practice range will serve as a venue for use by a Willowsford resident archery club.The Conservancy is now looking for 3 to 4 residents to help initiate and manage the archery club.  Volunteer involvement will include joining a team in developing guidelines for club management, membership, use of the range and assisting with the initial running of a newly-formed club. 

Interested volunteers who are Willowsford residents in good standing and are 18 years or older, can apply by contacting the Conservancy by October 31, 2017 at
info@willowsfordconservancy.org, and providing the following information:

  • Name, address, contact phone and e-mail
  • Please outline your experience with and interest in recreational archery, including current/past club membership, related volunteer work, etc.
  • What other volunteering have you done at Willowsford or outside of Willowsford?  In what capacity and for how long?
  • What priorities do you hope to accomplish, if selected?
  • What do you think this role entails? 

2017 Deer Hunting Began on Saturday, October 7Archery hunting of deer in The Greens and Grant will take place October 7 – December 31, from dawn to 10 AM and from 3 PM to dusk. Trails remain open during archery hunting. Residents must observe posted signs, stay on trails and keep dogs leashed. There will be no archery hunting between 10 AM – 3 PM.  

During scheduled Rev3 Adventure Enabler races and campground use, hunting will be restricted in the affected zones.  

Greens trails will be CLOSED during four firearms hunting periods in The Greens, including Nov. 14 –18; Nov. 28 – Dec. 1; Dec. 18 – 21; and Jan. 16 – 20.  Residents must observe all trail closure signs.  Special e-mails, notifications in Willowsford Weekly, and trail signage will alert residents before and during firearms hunts.

Willowsford Kitchen Prepared Foods for Sale - At the Farm Stand this week, we’re stocking the fridge and freezer with delicious foods made by Willowsford Kitchen and prepared with our veggies. You’ll find

  • Pot pie: chicken and veggie
  • Soup: potato leek, winter squash and apple, yellow pepper, and tomato
  • Ratatouille crostata 
  • Pumpkin bread.

Pizza at the Farm Stand (Next Week) - Pizza returns next week, 10/17.  In the meantime, we have dough, cheese, and, soon, our own tomato sauce. More on sauce in the coming weeks.
