Thursday, March 7th from 6:30 PM to 9 PM at Sycamore House.  Join Chef Bonnie Moore and Sommelier Nick Materese as they guide you through a taste comparison of neighboring Italian wines alongside a series of small plates.  Each dish will be paired with dueling glasses of Italian wines.  You decide which pairing wins!  This event is for adults 21 and over only.  $85/person. 2019 Annual Meeting of the Members

The 2019 annual meeting of the members is scheduled for March 21st at 6:30pm at The Lodge.  In accordance with Association Documents, official notice was sent via email on Friday, February 22nd, 2019.  If you haven't already done so, please register to attend the event.  View the official annual meeting notice here.  


Secondary School Attendance Zone Meetings

In establishing an attendance zone for both Lightridge High School and Willard Middle School, the current attendance boundaries for J. Michael Lunsford Middle School, Mercer Middle School, Willard Intermediate School, Freedom High School, and John Champe High School will be reviewed by the LCPS Board. Public hearings to address the School Board, have been scheduled for March 11 and April 2; the hearings will be held at the LCPS Administration Building (21000 Education Court, Ashburn) beginning at 6:30 PM. Please review the School Board’s attendance zone meeting calendar for the full schedule of work sessions, informational and action item meetings planned in addition to the public hearings. Board of Directors Meeting 

The Board of Directors meets every other month. The next board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 14 at 5:30 PM at Sycamore House. There is a slight change to the order of business; Executive Session will be moved to the end of the meeting so please attend at 5:30 PM for Open Session including resident comment period and matters for decision.

C.A.P.S. CAPS! CAPS! CAPS! & Chili Cook Off

Friday, March 8th beginning at 6 PM at The Lodge.  CAPS vs. Devils will be LIVE on the large outdoor screen.  Bring your favorite chili to share and vote on who’s is the best.  Winner gets a prize!  We will have firepits blazing to keep you warm.  Lawn chairs and blankets (hats,coats,and scarves) are recommended!  A keg will be provided, but please feel free to bring your favorite beverage.  This family-friendly event is FREE but please Register Here.

Join the Farm team for an introduction to Community Supported Agriculture and Willowsford Farm’s CSA options with time for Q&A. Willowsford Flea Market

Saturday, May 18th from 8 AM to 1 PM at the Sycamore House parking lot. Mark your calendars for Willowsford's Annual Flea Market! This event will be similar to the Community Yard Sales that we've had in the past but are opening it up to folks that are interested in selling more than just their second-hand items. There are a lot of great business owners and talented crafters in our neighborhood, so this is a great opportunity to meet your neighbors along with other flea market goers to promote your product and/or service offerings. Register here to participate!

REGISTRATION DEADLINE – FRIDAY, May 10th!  Registration is NOW OPEN to claim your spot at the Willowsford Flea Market! It’s time to gather up all those unused treasures and make some money - this resident-organized event will be advertised and is open to the public! Important details:  

• Each space is approx. 9-10 feet in width. 
• Spaces will be assigned in the order in which registrations are received.
• Spaces are only $10/each. More than one space may be purchased.
• Children and teens may bring lemonade, cookies and other items for sale if they wish.  Spaces for children are $5/each.  Please be sure they bring their own change and any supplies they may need, such as chairs, cups, napkins, tables and signage if desired. 
• Load-in and Set-Up time begins at 6:30 AM.  Sale begins promptly at 8 AM.  NO CARS WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE SALE AREA AFTER 8 AM.  Please arrive early and unload quickly!
• All items must be pre-priced and clearly labeled.  PLEASE- no broken or non-working items.
• Bring your own table for display purposes (if desired), and lawn chairs.
• Bring your own change!! We recommend a secure cash box with lots of $1, $5 and $10 bills. 
• Sale ends at 1 PM.   
Remember, all registrations MUST be received no later than 5 PM on Friday, May 10th.  Don’t miss your chance to sign up today!

Willowsford Waves

Willowsford Waves will be hosting an information and interest meeting on March 6th.  This is an opportunity to find out more about the Waves 2019 season and will be hosted at both the Lodge and the Sycamore House.  The Lodge meeting will be from 7pm-7:30pm and the Sycamore House meeting will be from 8pm-8:30pm.  All Willowsford residents and contracted buyers are welcome. 
 
The Waves will also be hosting swim evaluations for the 2019 season for those swimmers wanting to join our team.  Evaluations are scheduled for March 17th, at Claude Moore Recreation Center from 3pm-5pm.  All swimmers that are new to the Waves, or who were on the mini waves last year and would like to be on the “big” Waves this year, must attend evaluation.  If your swimmer has prior experience on another team please email us at willowsfordwaves@gmail.com to check if an evaluation is still required.

Willowsford Garden Club

Calling all gardeners…the 2019 Community Garden Growing Season is right around the corner!   
 
The Community Garden is an amenity open to all Willowsford residents. The Willowsford Home Owners Association manages the plot rental process and the Community Garden Group overseas the plot assignments and day-to-day operations of the garden.
 
The Community Garden growing season runs from 1 April to 31 October.  Garden plot rental rate is $50 with a deposit is $50 (deposit checks will be voided by HOA at the end of the season if plot is maintained throughout the growing season) Separate checks are required.  The plot rental application form can be found in the Community Garden Guidelines.
 
Prior year plot holders can begin pre-registering for this seasons plots beginning March 1st. Open registration for remaining Willowsford residents begins March 15th.
 
Stayed tuned for more information on “Spring Garden Prep” sessions in March and early April.  Anyone who’s interested in helping prepare the garden for this upcoming growing season is welcome!

Willowsford Cares Community Service Club

For our first event of 2019, Willowsford Cares will be supporting a food drive for Loudoun Hunger Relief during the month of February! Our drive will help replenish their stock, and it will be a great way to give back as a community. You may drop off at the Lodge or Sycamore House, and a few of our residents below have graciously offered their homes as drop off locations.  Please drop off pasta/rice, granola bars, canned food (fruits, veggies, meat, beans, and soup), cereal, or dried beans at any of the following locations through February 28th. We will deliver the donations to Loudoun Hunger Relief at that time. Thank you!

Thursday, March 14th at 7 PM at The Lodge.  Come join a great bunch of Willowsford ladies for a night of fun and laughter!  You don't have to know how to play.  We are happy to help you learn!  Please bring an appetizer or dessert to share and whatever you'd like to drink.  Players will also need $10 for Bunco and $3 to play Left, Center, Right.  Hope to see you there. NEW Yoga Series – Spring Clean for the Mind & Heart (4 week series)

Sundays, March 10th through March 31st from 10 to 11:30 AM at The Lodge. Clean out the cobwebs in your mind and heart to make space for what matters...YOU! When was the last time you took 3 long breaths?  Sometimes that is all it takes to clear out the cobwebs.  Learn how to create space for what matters, and to nurture the now through de-cluttering of the mind and heart.  This 4-week series will invite participants to explore figurative and literal de-cluttering to create space for mindfulness and self-care through playful, easy to implement practices and tools.  

Week 1:  Create Space in Your Physical Life to Create Space in Your Inner Life
Week 2:  Get Clear on What Matters
Week 3:  Say Yes to Aliveness
Week 4:  Make Room for What Feels Delicious

What's included?  Each session will be interactive and may include breathwork, gentle or yin yoga, guided meditation/visualization, time for personal reflection, group coaching, and activities to support the theme.  

Life Coach Elena Sonnino is a sought-after guide for getting out of your own way and living fully in the now.  As a life coach, speaker, and yoga teacher, her work is an invitation to unearth and attune to the inner strength and wisdom that is always with you.  She inspires individuals and groups to remove self-imposed obstacles and stop fixing their life, and start living their wild, audacious dreams in the now.

Children's Yoga
Kids are growing up in a very busy, hurry up world, and stress physically and emotionally is starting so much younger.  With busy schedules, school pressures, competitive sports and social media our kids need to learn the techniques at an early age to stay centered and grounded. Yoga brings an awareness to themselves and others, in a practice of mindful movement both physically and emotionally.  Treehouse Fit Kids is now offering classes for Willowsford residents.  Class activities are designed to instill body awareness, techniques and self-esteem as well as functional strength/coordination through movement.  Each class is designed with age appropriate movement, theme and music. Together let's empower the kids to build their strength from the inside out!

Wednesday and Friday at 9:30 AM at The Lodge. Calm the hustle. Quiet the mind. Strengthen the body. Connect to your inner strength and wisdom with yoga. Join us for practices that will range from gentle to more heat-building vinyasa flows and will all include breathwork and help you create space within the mind, body, and heart. You’ll take each practice with you off your mat, feel centered, strong, and ready for anything. This 6-week session begins March 6th and ends April 12th. $110 for the full session or $60 for 6 classes.  Register here.   


Early Express Bootcamp HIIT and LIFT (6-week session)

Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 5:30 AM at Sycamore House.  Rise and Shine and BURN.  Want to burn the most calories in the shortest amount of time? High Intensity Interval Training will help you do just that.  No need to spend hours in the gym, we’ve got you covered in under an hour. We mix things up 3 times a week with HIIT, Circuit, Reps, Tabata, and other protocols to make for a totally rewarding and calorie-torching workout. With three times a week you will work all muscle groups and feel the burn. So, wake up, grab your coffee, grab a friend and join us!  All levels and ages (16+) welcome.  HIIT it and go! Max Out Cardio Bodyweight Strength & PiY0 Combo (6-week session)

Cardio: Tuesdays at 5:30 AM at Sycamore House.  Earn your afterburn with this high energy cardio and bodyweight strength class.  All levels welcome.  Low impact and modifications offered.

PiYo: Thursdays at 5:30 AM at Sycamore House.  Excellent complement to Tuesday's cardio.  Low impact, yoga-based athletic training.  Rhythm-based choreographer movements.  Learn and burn!  Sculpt, shred, and stretch.

Early Morning Bootcamp/Cardio/PiY0 Combo 5 day (6-week session)

Kill it 5 days a week for a steep discount.  M, W, F we go HIIT and LIFT bootcamp (high intensity interval training with and without weights). Tuesdays is all body weight/cardio strength and Thursday is PiYo.  This 6-week (30 class) session begins March 4th and ends April 12th.  $215/person.  Register here.

Boot Camp at The Lodge (6-week session) Spring Break Prep!

Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:30 AM at The Lodge.  Boot Camp is designed to give you a full body workout with modifications for all fitness levels.  Cardio and strength exercises are combined to maximize your workout for a strengthening, toning workout incorporating body resistance as well as resistance and weight training equipment.  Each workout is different – utilizing the latest trends in fitness as well as the tried-and-true methods.  This 6-week session begins March 5th and ends April 11th.  $110 for the full session or $60 for 6 classes.
