Watershed Restoration DayCelebrating Earth Day, Sunday, April 28th from 9 AM to 11AM
Why do we need healthy watersheds? Watersheds are more than just drainage areas; they support habitat for plants and animals, drinking water for people and wildlife, and recreation. Calling all volunteers to join Willowsford Conservancy to help clean up and restore our local watersheds. These watersheds start in the Willowsford community and eventually run into the Chesapeake Bay. Join us for two volunteer options. Organized community volunteer groups and scout troops are welcome! Organize a clean-up walk in your own neighborhood! Deposit full trash bags visibly near the road and contact the Conservancy with the pick-up location for pick-up the following Monday/Tuesday. E-mail info@willowsfordconservancy.org to register your April 28th clean-up walk. Meet at Pin Oak Park and come join us for a cleanup walk from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. The Conservancy is providing bags, and we’ll have snacks at the end of the walk. Please wear long pants and closed-toed shoes. Be sure to bring gloves for everyone in your group. Ages 8 and older. The rain date is Sunday, May 5th. Register here: http://willowsfordconservancy.org/programs/events/event/watershed-restoration-day/
