Announcements

Off-Leash Dogs

We have received numerous reports of dogs not being properly leashed which has resulted in several dog attacks. For the safety of pets and neighbors, please ensure all dogs are properly leashed, confined within private property, or within a designated off-leash park at all times. The use of wireless collars or similar devices in lieu of a leash is not permitted.  There are currently three designated off-leash parks within Willowsford with a fourth in The Grove expected to open this fall.

Road Removed From Countywide Transportation Plan

We are excited to announce the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors voted to remove the segment of CTP road west of Northstar Boulevard known as Dulles West Boulevard (also known as Glascock Boulevard or US Route 50 North Connector Road) from the updated Countywide Transportation Plan.  Willowsford residents would have been directly and negatively affected by this road. A special thank you to Ashley Kyle and Brian Clark, both of Ivy Glen Court in The Grange who lead the efforts and spent countless hours collecting petition signatures and meeting with local officials.

Hal & Bernie Hanson Regional Park Approved

The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors approved construction of the Hal & Bernie Hanson Regional Park.  The new regional public park will provide both active and passive recreation on 257 acres located on both sides of Evergreen Mills Road, between the Brambleton and Willowsford communities.  Construction is expected to begin July 2019 with completion tentatively planned for spring 2022.

Resident Board Member Update

Hello Everyone,

We hope you are having a nice spring. Here's what the HOA Board of Directors has been up to:

First, we're happy to announce that as part of the transition to an all-resident HOA Board, our resident board member Bill Atwill, as Vice President, now chairs our Board meetings.  We know it's a small step in the path towards a full transition from the Developer, but we are certainly on our way. As you know, we are on track for an expected transition to an all-resident Board of Directors in early 2020.

Next, we've been reviewing and formulating revisions to the Bylaws and Community Charter for Willowsford. We feel it's important to complete these changes before the Developer departs the Board since afterward it will be difficult to obtain the required voting majority to implement even the smallest of changes. The process has been going on for about 8 months, starting with idea sheets from BOD members, HOA staff, and residents. A compiled list was sent to the attorney and has been transformed into a first draft of changed language. This changed language is currently under review / revision. Most of the changes are minor in nature at this point, which is a testament to the quality of the original documents. However, it's not too late to introduce other changes if anyone has any suggestions. We do plan to have a short resident comment period prior to the final vote, but please be aware that the comment period will be brief, and the revisions will be implemented while the Founder (the Willowsford Developer) still has the voting majority.
