Willowsford Special Interest License Plate

The idea of implementing a Willowsford special interest license plate has been tossed around. The process could take up to two years and requires sponsorship from a Virginia legislator, artwork approval, plus, a minimum of 450 pre-paid applications. We are polling the community to see if there is enough interest to further pursue the matter. Please note that this is just a preliminary poll to see if the community would like to move forward with the process! If approved, the extra fee for a Virginia special interest license plate is currently $10 per year, in addition to standard DMV fees. Artwork would likely include a simple Willowsford logo in a neutral color. Please click here if you pledge to submit a pre-paid application. Polling is open until September 20th.

Enforcement of Open Space Violations

We know that most of our residents appreciate the Willowsford vision of a community designed to be integral with its natural setting of expansive open space. Regardless of whether the open space is managed by the HOA or Conservancy, please understand it can NOT be maintained, altered, planted or claimed in any way by residents.

We have seen an increase in what we assume are well-intentioned efforts to maintain or plant open spaces that effectively expand individual yards past a homeowner’s property line. Obviously, this cannot be permitted for many reasons including liability, ecological damage, inconsistent appearance, and out of respect for the larger community. Therefore, the HOA and Conservancy will continue comprehensive enforcement to prevent such intrusions into open space.  If an open space encroachment is observed, any unauthorized landscaping and private property must be removed and any maintenance must cease. Habitat must be restored to its original condition at the homeowner’s cost. Continuing violations will be subject to enforcement which may include monetary charges and the suspension of amenity usage. Such enforcement ensures the sustainable management of Willowsford open space for the benefit of the community at large. Please click here for the complete notice.

Yoga for Kids

Kids are growing up in a very busy, hurry up world, and stress physically and emotionally is starting so much younger. With busy schedules, school pressures, competitive sports and social media our kids need to learn the techniques at an early age to stay centered and grounded. Yoga brings an awareness to themselves and others, in a practice of mindful movement both physically and emotionally. Treehouse Kids is now offering classes for Willowsford residents. Our classes are designed to teach yoga poses, breathing, and relaxation exercises which cultivate a calm mind, increase strength and flexibility, improve gross and fine motor skills, improve concentration, and give children the tools to manage stress in their daily lives. Each class is designed with age appropriate movement, theme and music. Together lets empower the kids to build their strength from the inside out!
